    1. Remove the rear solar sensor (see REMOVAL  ).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
    3. Connect the positive (+) lead from the ohmmeter to terminal 1 and negative (-) lead to terminal 2 of the rear solar sensor.

      Standard resistance

      REAR SOLAR SENSOR

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Sensor is subjected to electric light Below 1 Ω
Sensor is covered by a cloth 10 kΩ or higher

      HINT:

      • As the inspection light is moved away from the sensor, the voltage decreases.
      • Use an incandescent light for inspection. Bring it within 30 cm (11.8 in.) of the solar sensor.

NG: REPLACE REAR SOLAR SENSOR (See  REMOVAL   )

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR SOLAR SENSOR - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)

    1. Disconnect the v2 rear solar sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the S62 rear junction block ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

REAR SOLAR SENSOR - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      v2-1 - S62-26 (TSB) Always Below 1 Ω
      V2-2 - S62-18 (TSD) Always Below 1 Ω
S62-26 (TSB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
S62-18 (TSD) -Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK: REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
