How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
HINT:
- Use these procedures to troubleshoot the pre-collision system.
- *: Use the intelligent tester.
- VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP
- INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
Standard voltage: 11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.
- CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*
- Using the intelligent tester, check if the multiplex communication system (MPX) is functioning normally (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR
).
Result:
RESULT REFERENCEResult Proceed to MPX DTC is not output A MPX DTC is output B
B: GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A: GO TO Next Step
- Using the intelligent tester, check if the multiplex communication system (MPX) is functioning normally (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR
).
- CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*
- Using the intelligent tester, check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.
Result:
RESULT REFERENCEResult Proceed to CAN DTC is not output A CAN DTC is output B
B: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A: GO TO Next Step
- Using the intelligent tester, check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.
- CHECK FOR DTC*
- Check for DTC.
- Clear the DTC.
- Recheck for DTCs.
- Simulate the malfunction and check if the DTCs are output again (see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART (2006/02-2006/07)
).
Result:
RESULT REFERENCEResult Proceed to DTC is output A No DTC is output B No DTC is output, and malfunction cannot be simulated or checked C
- Simulate the malfunction and check if the DTCs are output again (see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART (2006/02-2006/07)
).
