DTC P0571-62 Brake Switch "A" Circuit - Signal compare failure: Action

- Prioritized Checks to Perform
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check the anti-lock brake system control module for road speed related Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and refer to the relevant DTC index
- Check the operation of the brake pedal switch. Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, run application - ECU Diagnostics/Powertrain Control Module (PCM)/Live Data - and select parameters - Engine Input 1 (0x1259) Brake Switch, Engine Input 1 (0x1259) Brake Switch 2. Press the brake pedal and check the values. When the brake pedal is released, both values should equal 0. When the brake pedal is pressed, both values should equal 1
- Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the brake pedal switch circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Check the electrical connectors for evidence of water ingress. Check the terminals for damage and corrosion. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
- Install new brake pedal switch
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, run application - ECU Diagnostics/Powertrain Control Module (PCM)/Clear Diagnostic Trouble Code(s). Retest
