DTC P0088-71 Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High Bank 1 - Actuator stuck: Action
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
Operational requirements needed to allow the monitor to be fully tested. Drive the vehicle over 3 drive cycles (engine on/off) across varied driving conditions including high torque to confirm the repair
- Check powertrain control module for fuel pressure related Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and refer to relevant Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) index
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, measure the fuel pressure drop across the fuel filter (2 measurement points)
- Measure point 1 (Input side of the fuel filter) Install 0 -14 Bar pressure gauge between Fuel Supply to Fuel Filter Pipe and Fuel filter
- Engine at idle expected fuel pressure 7 psi (0.5 bar)
- Engine at 3000 RPM expected fuel pressure 7 psi (0.5 bar)
- Measure point 2 (Output side of the fuel filter) Install 0 -14 Bar pressure gauge between Fuel filter and Fuel Filter to High Pressure Diesel Injector Pump Pipe
- Engine at idle expected fuel pressure 7 psi (0.5 bar)
- Engine at 3000 RPM expected fuel pressure 7 psi (0.5 bar)
- Fuel filter is blocked or starting to block if fuel pressure (output side of the fuel filter) is lower than fuel pressure (input side of the fuel filter)
- Install a new fuel filter, only when diagnosed as blocked
- Check for fuel level sensor related Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and refer to relevant Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) index
- Check fuel lines for restrictions and repair as required
- Check fuel lines for leakage and repair as required
- Check low pressure fuel system for leaks or blockage
- Check fuel pump - high pressure for mechanical integrity
- Fuel volume control valve
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and retest
