Tray, Battery: Removal: Gas

  1. Remove the battery. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) from the mount. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), REMOVAL . If required, remove the PCM mount.

  3. Remove the upper battery tray bolts (1).
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  5. Remove the lower belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL .
  6. Loosen the front half of the inner wheel splash shield to gain access to lower tray bolts. Refer to REMOVAL .

  7. Remove the bolt that secures the washer solvent bottle to the battery tray (1).

  8. Remove the battery tray to frame bottom side bolt (1).

  9. Remove the hood cable from the guide retainer (2) on the bottom side of the battery tray.
  10. Remove the bolts (1) that secure the battery tray (2) to the inner frame rail.
  11. Remove the battery tray from the vehicle by rotating the tray.
  12. If the tray is being replaced, remove the PCM bracket from the tray to transfer to the new tray.
