NOTE: Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition off. Using external, measure resistance between ground and component output side of fuse No. 9 socket. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace fuse No. 9.
  2. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on voltage input side of fuse No. 9 socket. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace fuse No. 9. Go to the AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section for further testing. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair fused ignition switch output circuit for short to ground. Replace fuse No. 9.
