Keyless Entry Transmitter

NOTE: If receiver malfunctions, only the receiver will have to be replaced. The new receiver will have to be reprogrammed. If a transmitter is lost, replace the transmitter and reprogram receiver. See TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING  under PROGRAMMING.
  1. Depress either transmitter button and note weather red Light Emitting Diode (LED) on transmitter case illuminates. If LED illuminates, go to next step. If LED does not illuminate, replace the batteries. Test transmitter operation. If transmitter works properly, discard faulty batteries. If transmitter does not work properly, go to next step.
  2. Perform transmitter program procedure with suspect transmitter and another known good transmitter. Test operation with both transmitters. If both transmitters fail to operate, see KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE  under SYSTEM TESTS. If known good transmitter operates power locks and suspect transmitter does not, replace faulty transmitter. Be certain to perform transmitter program procedure again when replacing faulty transmitter and to erase test transmitter access code from keyless entry module.
