Keyless Entry Module

  1. Check fuse 9 in fuse block. If okay, go to next step. If not okay, replace fuse.
  2. Check for battery voltage at fuse 9. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair circuit from Power Distribution Center (PDC).
  3. Access keyless entry module connectors. See KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  4. Unplug module connector from module. Check connector and receptacle in module for loose, corroded, or damaged terminal pins. If connector and terminals are okay, go to next step. If connector and terminals are not okay, repair as necessary.
  5. Probe module connector cavity terminal 1, and check for battery voltage. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair circuit to fuse 9 as necessary.
  6. Install a jumper wire from module connector terminal 1 to terminal 3. Doors should lock. If doors lock, go to  8 . If doors do not lock, go to next step.
  7. Check for continuity between module connector terminal 3 and lock relay terminal 3 (86). There should be continuity. If continuity exists, replace lock relay. If continuity does not exist, repair circuit as necessary.
  8. Install a jumper wire from module connector terminal 1 to module connector terminal 4. Doors should unlock. If doors unlock, replace module. If doors do not unlock, go to next step.
  9. Check for continuity between module connector terminal 4 and unlock relay terminal 3 (86). There should be continuity. If continuity exists, replace unlock relay. If continuity does not exist, repair circuit as necessary.
