Removal (XJS)

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  . Disconnect fuel inlet and return fuel lines, located near left front cylinder head.
  2. Disconnect and remove throttle linkage (rods), cable and return spring bracket from throttle pedestal. See Figure . Disconnect vacuum hose and fuel return pipe from fuel pressure regulator. Disconnect connector from thermal switch, located in fuel rail.
  3. Disconnect fuel injector harness connectors. Remove fuel rail-to-intake manifold nuts. Remove fuel rails, injectors and pressure regulator as an assembly. Remove injector retaining clips and injectors from fuel rail. Remove "O" rings from injectors.
