Removal (XJS)

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect fuel inlet and return fuel lines, located near left front cylinder head.
  2. Disconnect and remove throttle linkage (rods), cable and return spring bracket from throttle pedestal. See Figure. Disconnect vacuum hose and fuel return pipe from fuel pressure regulator. Disconnect connector from thermal switch, located in fuel rail.
  3. Disconnect fuel injector harness connectors. Remove fuel rail-to-intake manifold nuts. Remove fuel rails, injectors and pressure regulator as an assembly. Remove injector retaining clips and injectors from fuel rail. Remove "O" rings from injectors.
