Power Relay Test: Test
- Power Relay - Test
Use this chart to identify the types of the relay, then do the test listed for it.
Relay Test A/C compressor clutch relay Normally-open four-terminal type Active control engine mount (ACM) control relay (J35Y1 and J35Y2 engines) Blower motor relay Console accessory power socket relay (with console accessory power socket) Daytime running light relay (with daytime running light (LED type)) Driver's seat heater relay (high) (with front seat heater) Electronic throttle control system (ETCS) control relay Fog light relay (with fog light) Front accessory power socket relay Front passenger's seat heater relay (high) (with front seat heater) Headlight relay Horn relay Ignition coil relay Injector relay (K24W1 engine) Interior lights cut relay Left rear seat heater relay (high) (with rear seat heater) PGM-FI main relay 1 (FI MAIN) PGM-FI main relay 2 (FUEL PUMP) PGM-FI subrelay Power mirror defogger relay (without keyless access system except Mexico models) Power window relay (4-door) Rear window defogger relay Right rear seat heater relay (high) (with rear seat heater) Brake light relay (with ACC) Five-terminal type Driver's seat heater relay (low) (with front seat heater) Front passenger's seat heater relay (low) (with front seat heater) Left rear seat heater relay (low) (with rear seat heater) Right rear seat heater relay (low) (with rear seat heater) NOTE: Carefully remove all relays using the special relay puller tool. Do not use pliers. Pliers will damage the relay.Normally-Open Four-Terminal Type
Check for continuity between the terminals:
- There should be continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2 when battery power is connected to terminal No. 3, and battery ground is connected to terminal No. 4.
- There should be no continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2 when battery power is disconnected.
Five-Terminal Type
Check for continuity between the terminals:
- There should be continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2 when battery power is connected to terminal No. 3, and battery ground is connected to terminal No. 5.
- There should be continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 4 when battery power is disconnected.
