Water Passage Replacement

  1. Drain the engine coolant (see COOLANT REPLACEMENT  ).
  2. Remove the intake manifold (see REMOVAL ).
  3. Remove the EGR pipe (see EGR PIPE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  4. Disconnect the EGR valve connector, the ECT sensor 1 connector, the upper radiator hose, the lower radiator hose, the heater hoses, and the water bypass hoses from the water passage.
  5. Remove the water passage and related parts.

  6. Install the water passage in the reverse order of the removal.
  7. Install the EGR pipe (see EGR PIPE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  8. Install the intake manifold (see INSTALLATION ).
  9. Refill the radiator with engine coolant, and bleed the air from the cooling system (see COOLANT CHECK  ).
  10. Clean up any spilled engine coolant.
