Park Pin Switch Test

- Remove the driver dashboard lower cover (see DASHBOARD CENTER LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Disconnect D3 switch/park pin switch/A/T gear position indicator panel light harness connector.
- Check for continuity between D3 switch/park pin switch/A/T gear position indicator panel light harness connector terminals No. 2 and No. 6 with the shift lever is in the P position, and with the shift lever out of the P position.
- There should be no continuity when the shift lever is in the P position, and there should be continuity when the shift lever in any position other than P.
- If the park pin switch is OK, connect the connector and install the driver dashboard lower cover. If the switch is faulty, replace the park pin switch (see PARK PIN SWITCH REPLACEMENT ).
