Hood Opener Cable Replacement
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the body and related parts.
- Take care not to kink the cable.
- Remove these items:
- Inner fender (see INNER FENDER REPLACEMENT )
- Kick panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREAS )
- Front bumper, '00-03 models (see '00-03 MODELS ), '04-09 models (see '04-09 MODELS )
- Air guide plate cover (see HOOD RELEASE HANDLE REPLACEMENT )
- Disconnect the hood opener cable (A) from the hood latch (B) and hood release handle (C) (see HOOD RELEASE HANDLE REPLACEMENT ).
- Using a clip remover, detach the clips (D, E) and remove the grommet (F) from the body, then remove the hood opener cable. Take care not to kink the cable.
- Install the cable in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Check for damaged or stress-whitened clips, and replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips into place securely.
- Route the cable through the hole (G) in the body.
