Electrical Testing

  1. With ignition switch OFF, connect positive probe of voltmeter to Black/Yellow wire terminal of fuel pump relay connector, and negative probe to ground (Black) terminal. Turn ignition switch on and check for voltage. If no voltage, check fuse and continuity of Black/Yellow wire.
  2. If voltage is available, connect the positive probe of voltmeter to Blue wire at pump cut-off relay and negative probe to ground. Turn ignition switch ON and check for battery voltage. If voltmeter does not indicate battery voltage, check Blue wire between connector and negative side of coil. Turn ignition switch OFF.
  3. Disconnect relay connector. Attach jumper wire between 2 Black/Yellow wires of connector and turn ignition switch ON. If fuel pressure is now available, replace fuel cut-off relay. If fuel pressure is not available, proceed to FUEL PUMP OPERATIONAL TESTING .
