Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

    Install drain plug (2) and seal and tighten to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

  2. Fill the transfer case with the recommended fluid. Fill the transfer case so fluid is at a minimum 11 mm (0.43 in) below the bottom of the fill plug hole. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers , and Approximate Fluid Capacities .
  3. Install fill plug (1) and seal and tighten to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
  4. Install the power transfer unit heat shield, if equipped. Power Transfer Unit Heat Shield Replacement
