Installation Procedure
- Install the generator (5) into position and tighten the stud (4) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the harness bracket (2) and the generator mounting bolts (1). Tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
- Install the generator mounting nut (3) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
- Connect the engine harness connector (1) to the generator.
- Connect the throttle body connector (1) and attach the throttle body harness retainer (2) to the engine harness bracket.
- Attach the engine harness retainer (3) to the engine harness bracket.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Install the battery positive cable (2) to the generator stud and tighten the nut (1) to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
- Slide the protective boot (3) onto the generator stud.
- Install the underbody splash shield. Refer to Underbody Splash Shield Replacement (without ZR2)Underbody Splash Shield Replacement (with ZR2) .
- Install the steering gear skid shield. Refer to Steering Gear Skid Shield Replacement (without ZR2)Steering Gear Skid Shield Replacement (with ZR2) .
- Position the engine front splash shield. Refer to Engine Front Splash Shield Replacement .
- Install the right front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (without ZR2)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (with ZR2) .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
- Install the radiator inlet hose - LCV radiator to inlet pipe. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LCV Radiator to Inlet Pipe)Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LCV Inlet Pipe to Water Outlet) .
- Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
