Removal & Installation (2.2L)

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Raise and support vehicle. Remove fuel composition sensor mounting nut. See Fig 1. Remove fuel composition sensor mounting bolt.
  2. Remove fuel composition sensor from frame rail. See Fig 2. Disconnect fuel composition sensor inlet and outlet pipes. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (PLASTIC COLLAR)  under FUEL LINE DISCONNECT FITTINGS.
  3. Disconnect fuel composition sensor harness connector. Remove fuel composition sensor from mounting bracket. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Connect negative battery cable. Turn ignition switch to ON position for 2 seconds. Turn ignition switch to OFF position for 10 seconds. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Check for fuel leaks. Repair as necessary.
