Trouble Shooting

Verify Yellow ABS indicator in instrument cluster does not remain illuminated when ignition switch is in RUN position. Repair ABS system as necessary. See ANTI-LOCK - 4WAL - EXPLORER, RANGER & MOUNTAINEER article in BRAKES. Verify horn and stoplights function properly. Verify speedometer operates properly. Repair as necessary. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - EXPLORER & MOUNTAINEER article. Repair as necessary. Inspect actuator and throttle linkage for smooth operation. Unbind as necessary. Inspect for faulty fuse(s), loose or corroded connections, damaged wiring harness, damaged switches, damaged servo/actuator cable and incorrect servo/actuator cable adjustment. If no problems are found, perform self-diagnostics. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM  .
