Transmission Range Sensor

  1. Place gearshift lever in Neutral position. Remove manual control lever. Loosen Transmission Range (TR) sensor retaining bolts. Using Range Sensor Adjuster (307-351), adjust TR sensor adjuster. See Fig 1 . Tighten TR sensor retaining bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Install shift control lever, and tighten nut.
  2. Check for park gear engagement. Start engine and ensure indicated gear positions match transmission response. If operation is not okay, check shift cable adjustment. See SHIFT CABLE  . Verify vehicle only starts in Park and Neutral, and back-up lights operate.
