Wipers Inoperative At Interval Setting

  1. Unplug connector from WCM, located at fuse block. Measure resistance between Brown/White wire and Orange wire terminals of harness connector. See Figure . If resistance is 10,500-12,000 ohms, go to step 3). If resistance is not 10,500-12,000 ohms, go to next step.
  2. Unplug connector from wiper switch. Measure resistance between Brown/White wire and Orange wire terminals of switch. If resistance is 10,500-12,000 ohms, repair open wire between WCM and wiper switch. If resistance is not 10,500-12,000 ohms, test wiper switch. See WIPER SWITCH TEST  . Replace wiper switch if necessary.
  3. Measure resistance between Brown/White wire and Dark Blue/White wire terminals of windshield wiper switch while rotating interval control. If resistance is 103.3 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 103.3 k/ohms, replace WCM.
  4. Unplug connector from windshield wiper switch. Measure resistance between Brown/White wire and Dark Blue/White wire terminals of switch while rotating interval control. If resistance is less than 103.3 k/ohms, repair open wiring between wiper switch and WCM. If resistance is at least 103.3 ohms, test wiper switch. Refer to, in this article, WIPER SWITCH TEST  . Replace switch if necessary and retest system.
