Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK IF DTC IS CURRENT 
    1. Using the scan tool, read EVCU DTCs.
    2. Record the Environmental Data and any DTCs.
    3. Clear DTCs.
    4. Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
    5. Read EVCU DTCs.

      Did the DTC reset?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. CHECK THE BPCM DTCS 
    1. Check the BPCM for DTCs.

      Were there any BPCM DTCs?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK THE HYBRID/EV BATTERY PACK COOLANT SYSTEM 
    1. Check the Hybrid/EV Battery Pack Cooling System for low coolant level. Refer to HIGH-VOLTAGE BATTERY COOLING AND HEATING SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
    2. Check the Hybrid/EV Battery Pack Cooling System for coolant contamination.
    3. Check the Hybrid/EV Battery Pack Cooling Valves for proper operation. Refer to CHILLER, BATTERY COOLANT (BCC), OPERATION .
    4. Check the Hybrid/EV Battery Pack Cooling Pump for proper operation. Refer to PUMP, BATTERY COOLANT, OPERATION .
    5. Check the Battery Coolant Heater fuse.
    6. Check the A/C for proper charge. Refer to PLUMBING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

      Was any of the above problems found in the Hybrid/EV Battery Pack Cooling System?

      Yes 

      • Repair as necessary in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
