Removal & Installation

  1. Crankshaft position sensor is located near crankshaft sprocket. See Fig 1.
  2. Manufacturer recommends removing timing belt cover and timing belt to access crankshaft position sensor. See appropriate article in the ENGINES section.
  3. Disconnect connector from crankshaft position sensor. Remove bolts, wiring harness bracket and crankshaft position sensor. To install, reverse removal procedure. Install and tighten crankshaft position sensor and wiring harness bracket bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
