Valve Relay
- Disconnect hydraulic unit 10-pin connector. Remove and test valve relay. See HYDRAULIC UNIT RELAYS under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. If relay is okay, go to next step. If relay is faulty, replace relay.
- Connect hydraulic unit connector. Disconnect ECU wiring harness connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between valve relay connector terminals No. 52 (Red/Black wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, an open exists in hydraulic unit wiring harness. Repair or replace wiring harness.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between ECU connector terminals No. 2 (Blue/Yellow wire) and 27 (Red/Blue wire). Resistance should be 60-120 ohms. If resistance is okay, go to next step. If resistance is not okay, repair or replace faulty wiring harness between hydraulic unit and ECU.
- Check for continuity between ECU connector terminal No. 22 (Green wire) and ground. If continuity does not exist, repair or replace faulty wiring harness between hydraulic unit and ECU. If continuity exists, valve relay circuit is okay. Replace faulty ECU.
