One Window Inoperative

NOTE: All power windows receive their battery and ground feed for operating the power window motors through the Driver Door Module (DDM).
NOTE: Window glass must be free to slide up and down for power window motor to function properly. If glass is not free to move up and down, motor will overload and trip circuit breaker. See WINDOWS  under ADJUSTMENTS.
  1. If the only power window that is inoperative is in the driver door, see POWER WINDOW MOTOR  under COMPONENT TESTS. For all other windows, ensure window lock-out switch on DDM door is in OFF position (raised position). If okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. Remove the DDM. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check for continuity between ground and DDM C2 harness connector terminal No. 5. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in ground circuit between DDM and ground point G307.
  3. Reconnect DDM harness connector. Remove suspect power window switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect the negative battery cable. Turn ignition on. Check for battery voltage at inoperative power window switch harness connector terminal No. 6. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Window Switch Feed circuit between inoperative power window switch and DDM.
  4. Check power window switch continuity. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace faulty power window switch as necessary. If power window switch tests okay, go to next step.
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. Check for continuity in each circuit between DDM C1 or C2 harness connectors and inoperative power window switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If continuity does not exist, repair circuit(s) as necessary. If continuity exists in all circuits, Check suspect power window motor. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR  under COMPONENT TESTS.
