Body Control Modules - Coupe: Description

Body control system is also referred to as multiplex system. Electronic Timer Alarm Control System Electronic Control Unit (ETACS ECU), Front ECU, Sun Roof ECU (if equipped with sun roof) and Column ECU (ignition switch) communicate with each other along a common multiplex communication line (Blue/White wire). These ECUs control multiple vehicle functions as follows.

• Anti-Theft Alarm System
• Door Ajar
• Exterior/Interior Lights
• Remote Keyless Entry System
• Central Door Lock System
• Power Windows
• Sun Roof
• Tone Alarm
• Windshield Wiper/Washer System

Body control computer fault messages are accessed through 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC) using MUT-II Scan Tool (MB991502) or generic scan tool. DLC is located on right side of steering column, above accelerator pedal. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  .
