One Window Inoperative

  1. Ensure window lock-out switch on driver's door is in OFF position (raised position). Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove power window switch from door with inoperative window. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect negative battery cable. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, check for battery voltage at inoperative power window switch connector Yellow wire terminal. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Yellow wire between inoperative power window switch and driver's power window switch wiring harness connector C2 terminal No. 8. See Figure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove driver's power window switch. Using DVOM, check for continuity in each circuit between driver's power window switch and inoperative power window switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. If continuity exists in all circuits, go to next step.
  3. Using DVOM, test power window switch continuity. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace faulty power window switch as necessary. If power window switch tests okay, go to next step.
  4. Using DVOM, check for continuity in each circuit between power window switch for inoperative window and corresponding power window motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If continuity does not exist in any circuit, repair wiring as necessary. If continuity exists in all circuits, test power window motor. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR  under COMPONENT TESTS.
