Power Window Motor

NOTE: Power window motor and regulator are serviced as an assembly.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove door trim panel. See DOOR TRIM PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect power window motor connector. Using jumper wires from an alternative 12-volt source, apply battery voltage to power window motor terminals. Power window motor should operate, unless window is already at maximum travel.
  2. Reverse jumper wires. Power window motor should operate in opposite direction. If power window motor does not operate in either direction, replace power window motor. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. If power window motor operates in one direction only, replace power window motor. If power window motor grunts and does not move, disconnect window glass from regulator plate. Check window glass, tracks and regulator for sticking, binding or improper adjustment. Repair as necessary and recheck system operation.
