Exterior Handle: Removal

Roll door glass up.
Remove door trim panel. (Refer to REMOVAL ).
Remove the watershield as necessary to gain access to the outside door handle. (Refer to REMOVAL ).
Through access hole at rear of inner door panel, disconnect key cylinder position switch connector from door harness, if equipped (Fig 1 ).
Disengage push in fasteners attaching key position switch harness to latch assembly, if equipped.
CAUTION: Do not remove key position switch wire connect from the key cylinder it will damage connection and will have to be replaced.
Disengage clip attaching door latch linkage to outer door handle (Fig 2 ).
Disengage clip attaching door lock linkage to outside door handle.
Loosen the screw attaching outside door handle cover to outside handle bracket (Fig 3 ), through access hole in door inner panel.
Remove outside door handle assembly and cover at the same time, by pulling handle towards the rear of vehicle (Fig 4 ).
Loosen screws attaching outside handle bracket to outer door panel.
Remove outside handle bracket assembly from outer door panel (Figure ).
