Exterior Handle: Removal
- Roll door glass up.
- Remove door trim panel. (Refer to REMOVAL ).
- Remove the watershield as necessary to gain access to the outside door handle. (Refer to REMOVAL ).
- Through access hole at rear of inner door panel, disconnect key cylinder position switch connector from door harness, if equipped (Fig 1 ).
- Disengage push in fasteners attaching key position switch harness to latch assembly, if equipped.CAUTION: Do not remove key position switch wire connect from the key cylinder it will damage connection and will have to be replaced.
- Disengage clip attaching door latch linkage to outer door handle (Fig 2 ).
- Disengage clip attaching door lock linkage to outside door handle.
- Loosen the screw attaching outside door handle cover to outside handle bracket (Fig 3 ), through access hole in door inner panel.
- Remove outside door handle assembly and cover at the same time, by pulling handle towards the rear of vehicle (Fig 4 ).
- Loosen screws attaching outside handle bracket to outer door panel.
- Remove outside handle bracket assembly from outer door panel (Figure ).
