- Inspect vehicle to ensure all engine components are properly installed and connected. Reassemble and reconnect components as necessary.
- Connect DRBIII® or scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Ensure fuel tank has at least a quarter tank of fuel. Turn all accessories off.
- Turn ignition off for at least 10 seconds. Start engine, and run 2 minutes. Monitor scan tool GOOD TRIP counter. If GOOD TRIP counter changes to one or more, and there are no new DTC/fault messages, repair was successful and repair is complete. Erase DTC/fault messages and disconnect DRBIII® or scan tool.
- If repaired DTC/fault message has reset, or if other DTC/fault messages have set, go to appropriate diagnostic and repair procedure for DTC/fault messages present. Check for any related Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) or flash programming updates that may apply.
- Using scan tool, monitor appropriate pretest enabling conditions until all conditions have been met. Once enabling conditions have been met, run appropriate monitor.
- If appropriate monitor ran, and GOOD TRIP counter changes to one or more, and there are no new DTC/fault messages, repair was successful and repair is complete. Erase DTC/fault messages and disconnect DRBIII® or scan tool.
- If repaired OBDII DTC/fault message has reset, or seen in monitor while on road test, repair is not complete. Check for any related Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) or flash programming updates that may apply.
- If repaired DTC/fault message has reset or was seen in monitor while on road test, repair is not complete. Check for Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) or flash updates and return to test that directed you here or perform appropriate test procedure(s). If appropriate monitor ran, good trip counter increments and no DTC/fault messages have been set, repair is complete.
