Verification Tests: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan and 2001 Chrysler Town & Country. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING:
If vehicle is equipped with VTSS system, request vehicle's unique PIN code number from vehicle owner prior to performing verification test. Ensure all of vehicle's keys are present if Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) has been replaced.
NOTE:
If Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is replaced, transfer VIN and unique PIN code to SKIM, before disconnecting PCM. SKIM must be in secured access mode to allow transfer of information from PCM to SKIM. Unique 4-digit code is necessary to enter SKIM into secured access mode.
NOTE:
Always ensure all accessories are off and battery is fully charged before proceeding. If 3 attempts are made to enter secured access mode using an incorrect PIN code, secured access mode will be locked out for one hour. To exit this mode, cycle ignition switch off then on, and wait for one hour.
NOTE:
Following procedures were written specifically for use with a DRBIII® scan tool. Other generic scan tools can be used, but may have limited functions.
