WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan and 2001 Chrysler Town & Country. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

ATC control panel is located in center of instrument panel. See Fig 1. ATC module is integral of ATC control panel. Front Infrared (IR) sensor is located in center panel vents and monitors driver and passenger zone surface temperatures. See Fig 2. ATC control panel consists of 3 rocker switches for temperature control settings of driver, passenger, and rear occupant zones. AUTO mode rocker switch allows operator to select 3 different cool down rates. Automatic rate control is controlled by ATC module. Low rate of cooling or high rate of cooling can be selected from AUTO rocker switch at ATC control panel. See Fig 2. ATC control panel Vacuum Fluorescent (VF) display will illuminate AUTO, LO-AUTO or HI-AUTO text message when appropriate is selected.

Additional button switches allow control of defroster and recirculated air modes. VF display icons for defroster and recirculation will be displayed when function is enabled. A/C button switch for A/C compressor operation, with snowflake icon displayed in ATC control panel window, when A/C compressor is requested. Rotary knob switches for blower and for mode selection, with appropriate icon displayed for each mode, when selected.

Rear control switch on ATC control panel allows vehicle operator to control rear HVAC unit. With rear control switch in AUTO position, rear HVAC system will be automatically controlled to driver's zone settings. In AUTO position, rear zone control panel is disabled. With rear control switch if OFF position, rear zone control panel and rear HVAC unit are disabled. With rear control switch in REAR CONTROL position, rear zone control panel assumes control of rear climate settings, and rear HVAC unit is controlled from rear zone control panel. See Fig 3.
