Windshield Wiper Test 2D - Wipers Not Working At All
NOTE:
Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 2A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Remove intermittent wiper relay from Power Distribution Center (PDC). Ensure connector is clean and not damaged. See Figure in WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 2A. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal "E" (Pink/Violet wire) on intermittent relay socket. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 2F .
- Reinstall intermittent wiper relay. Locate engine 14-pin connector at BCM. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. Do not disconnect connector. Backprobe jumper wire between terminal No. 7 (Pink/Violet wire) on engine 14-pin connector and ground. If wiper motor does not operate, go to next step. If wiper motor operates, replace BCM.
- Remove intermittent wiper relay from PDC. Do not disconnect jumper wire. Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal "E" (Pink/Violet wire) on intermittent wiper relay socket. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace intermittent wiper relay. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Pink/Violet wire between engine 14-pin connector at BCM and intermittent wiper relay in PDC.
