Instrument Cluster Test 3G - Repairing Low Fuel Light
NOTE:
Perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 3A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Ensure fuel tank is more than 1/8 full, or low fuel light may illuminate. If low fuel light does illuminate, replace Body Control Module (BCM). See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. If low fuel light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, actuate instrument cluster bulbs. If low fuel light illuminates, replace BCM. If low fuel light does not illuminate, remove instrument cluster and inspect low fuel light bulb. Replace as needed. If bulb is okay, replace instrument cluster circuit board.
