Installation Procedure

    Steering Column Control Module (1) - Install

    Gear Shift Control Module (5) @ Steering Column Control Module (3) - Install

  3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Automatic Transmission Electronic Control Bolt (4) @ Steering Column Control Module (3) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications 
  5. Turn Signal Switch (1) @ Steering Column Control Module (3) - Install
  6. Turn Signal Switch Bolt (2) @ Steering Column Control Module (3) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Install the turn signal switch bracket as an assembly.

  8. Ensure the tabs on the turn signal switch bracket are fully engaged.
  9. Tighten the turn signal switch bracket band clamp (1) to specification. Fastener Specifications

    Wiring Harness Clip (2) - Install

  11. Electrical Connector (1) @ Gear Shift Control Module - Connect

    Wiring Harness Clip (2) - Install [2x]

  13. Electrical Connector (1) @ Turn Signal Switch - Connect
  14. Ensure the steering wheel airbag coil is CENTERED during installation. Steering Wheel Airbag Coil Centering

    Connect the electrical connector, if equipped.

  16. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover (1) - Install

    Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Secure the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) to the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover.

    Connect the electrical connector.

  20. Steering Wheel (2) - Install
  21. If a NEW threaded component is being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded component is reused, prepare the threaded component using the following steps:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Remove loose debris from internal and external threads using compressed air.
    4. Apply liquid thread locking adhesive in a strip along half of the length of the external threads, starting at the tip, just prior to installation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
    5. Steering Wheel Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Connect the electrical connectors.

  23. Install any connector position assurance (CPA) devices or secondary locks.
  24. WARNING:

    After installation of the steering wheel airbag module to the steering wheel, slightly pull the module outward. If there is no give on the airbag module then it is secured correctly. If the airbag module is not fully attached personal injury could result.

  25. Steering Wheel Airbag (1) - Install

    Steering Wheel Airbag Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    NOTE:

    Left side shown, right side similar.

    Install the left and right steering wheel airbag access hole covers (1).

  28. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
