Installation Procedure

    Apply a small amount of lubricant to the front wheel drive intermediate shaft splines. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 

  2. Front Wheel Drive Intermediate Shaft Retaining Ring (1) - Install NEW
    3. NOTE:

    Ensure that the front wheel drive intermediate shaft (2) is securely engaged to the front differential carrier.

    Front Wheel Drive Intermediate Shaft Bracket (1) - Install

    5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Front Wheel Drive Intermediate Shaft Bracket Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [ 3x ] - Fastener Specifications

    Apply a small amount of lubricant to the front wheel drive intermediate shaft splines. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 

  7. Front Wheel Drive Intermediate Shaft Seal (2) - Install NEW
  8. Front Wheel Drive Intermediate Shaft Retaining Ring (1) - Install NEW

    Apply a small amount of grease to the front wheel drive intermediate shaft splines. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    10. NOTE:

    Ensure that the front wheel drive half shaft (1) is securely engaged to the front wheel drive intermediate shaft.

  10. Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft (1) - Install

    Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod (1) @ Steering Knuckle - Install

    12. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  12. Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Steering Knuckle Bolt (2) - Install [ 2x ]

  14. Steering Knuckle Nut (1) - Install and tighten [ 2x ] - Fastener Specifications

    Have an assistant apply the brakes.

  16. Front Wheel Drive Shaft Nut (1) - Install NEW and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Front Splash Shield (2) - Install

  18. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [ 5x ] - Fastener Specifications
  19. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (3) - Install
  20. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  21. Lower the vehicle.
