Circuit/System Verification

Ignition ON.
Verify the park assist OFF indicator illuminates, then does not illuminate.
- If the park assist OFF indicator does not illuminate.
  Refer to Circuit/System Testing - Module Malfunction.
- If the park assist OFF indicator stays illuminated.
  When the park assist OFF indicator stays illuminated there is a DTC set. For code retrieval, refer to Park Assist System Flash Code Procedures .
  
  If a DTC can not be retrieved, refer to Circuit/System Testing .
- Go to next step: If the park assist system does not manually change .
Verify the park assist system can be enabled by pressing the parking assist switch.
- If the park assist system can not be enabled
  Refer to Circuit/System Testing - Park Assist OFF Switch Signal Circuit Malfunction
- Go to next step: If the park assist system can be enabled
Parking brake applied, transmission in reverse, verify the backup lamps are illuminated.
- If the backup lamps are not illuminated
  Refer to Backup Lamps Malfunction .
- Go to next step: If the backup lamps are illuminated
All OK.
