Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Before conducting any repair to this high voltage cooling system, it is necessary to determine/verify whether no high-voltage system faults exist. If high-voltage faults exist, follow published DTC diagnostics/repair procedures prior to performing any cooling system repairs. Failure to correct High Voltage Faults before working on the high voltage cooling system could result in personal injury or death.

  1. Turn vehicle power OFF and remove all keyless entry transmitters from the vehicle and secure in a place outside the vehicle.
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  3. Drain the drive motor generator power inverter module cooling system. Refer to Drive Motor Generator Power Inverter Module Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  4. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging

  6. Remove Front Compartment Front Sight Shield (3). Refer to Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement

  8. Remove Front Compartment Air Deflector (5). Refer to Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement

  10. Remove Front Wheelhouse Liner (4) (Qty: 2). Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement
  11. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (North America)Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Europe, Korea)

  13. Remove Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector (2). Refer to Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement

  21. Disengage Clamp (1). Refer to Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type 
  22. Remove Drive Motor Generator Control Module Radiator Inlet Hose (2)

  24. Disconnect Electrical Connector (1)

  26. Disengage Clamp (1). Refer to Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type 
  27. Remove Drive Motor Generator Control Module Radiator Outlet Hose (2)

  29. Disconnect Electrical Connector (1)

  35. Remove the 2 cooling fan bolts (1).
  36. Remove Cooling Fan (2)
  37. Transfer components as necessary including rubber mounts.
