Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning

CAUTION:

Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM.

  1. Refer to High Voltage Disabling
  2. Remove Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover. Refer to Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover Replacement
  3. Fig 1: Radiator Surge Tank And Bracket Clip

  4. Remove Radiator Surge Tank Bracket Clip (2)
  5. NOTE:

    Do NOT disconnect the engine coolant hoses.

  6. Position aside Radiator Surge Tank (1)

    NOTE:

    Cap the brake pipe fittings to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  8. Remove Brake Pipe Fitting (1) @ Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (3) (Qty: 4)
  9. Remove Brake Pipe Fitting (2) @ Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (3)

    NOTE:

    Cap the brake pipe fittings to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  11. Remove Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Primary Pipe (1) @ Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (2)

    NOTE:

    Cap the brake pipe fittings to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  13. Remove Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Primary Pipe (1) @ Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (2)

  15. Disconnect Electrical Connector (1) @ Electronic Brake Control Module (2)

  17. Remove Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Bolt (1)
  18. NOTE:

    Protect the windshield edge before removing the component.

  19. Carefully remove the brake pressure modulator valve (3) and the brake pressure modulator valve bracket (2) from the vehicle.
  20. Remove Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Replacement
