Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  2. Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement  - Remove

    NOTE:

    Place match marks on the steering linkage inner tie rod nut and the steering linkage inner tie rod.

  3. Steering Linkage Inner Tie Rod Nut (1) - Remove
  4. Steering Gear Boot Outer Clamp (2) - Remove
  5. Steering Gear Boot Inner Clamp (3) - Remove
  6. Steering Gear Boot (4) - Remove
  7. After removing the steering gear boot, inspect the steering linkage inner tie rod for evidence of corrosion or contamination. If corrosion or contamination is evident, replace the steering gear. Steering Gear Rack Replacement
