Test Description

The number below refer to the step number on the diagnostic table.

  1. 2:  Tests for a proper ground to the EBCM.

Schematic Reference: ABS Schematics 
1 Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information
Test both of the ground circuits of the electronic brake control module (EBCM) for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 5  Go to Step 3 
3 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the EBCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 5  Go to Step 4 
4 Replace the EBCM. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.
Is the replacement complete?
Go to Step 5  -

  1. Use the scan tool to clear the DTCs.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC as specified in the supporting text.
Does the DTC reset?
Go to Step 2  System OK
