Test C: Abs Indicator Inoperative

  1. Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Install scan tool. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Using scan tool, go to OUTPUT CONTROLS in instrument panel display. Using the WOW mode on scan tool, turn all instrument panel indicators on and off. The ABS indicator should turn on and then off when commanded. If ABS indicator turns on and off, go to next step. If ABS indicator does not turn on and off, go to step  4 .
  3. Replace EBCM. After replacing EBCM, go to step  5 .
  4. Diagnose instrument panel. Repair or replace as necessary. After repairing instrument panel, go to next step.
  5. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Recheck DTCs. If DTC resets, go to step  2 . If DTC does not reset, system is okay.
