Power Seats Diagnostic System Check

  1. Following manufacturer's instructions, connect GM Tech II scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). If scan tool powers up, go to next step. If scan tool does not power up, see SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article.
  2. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Attempt to establish communications with Body Control Module (BCM). If communication is established, go to next step. If communication cannot be established, go to SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article.
  3. Select scan tool display DTCs function for the BCM. If scan tool displays any DTCs, go to next step. If scan tool does not display any DTCs, go to POWER SEATS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  4. If scan tool does not display any DTCs beginning with "U", go to next step. If scan tool displays any DTCs beginning with "U", go to SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article.
  5. If scan tool displays DTC B1507 or B1508, go to SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article. If scan tool does not display DTC B1507 or B1508, go to POWER SEATS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
