Power Seats System Operation Check
- Move heated seat switch (if equipped) to LOW position. Seat should heat to about 98.6°F (37°C). Move heated seat switch to HIGH position. Seat should heat to about 111.2°F (44°C). Move heated seat switch to central OFF position. Seat should cool to ambient temperature. If heated seat operates as specified, go to next step. If heated seat does not operate as specified, go to HEATED SEAT INOPERATIVE and/or HEATED SEAT ALWAYS ON under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- Move power seat switch to all positions. If power seat does not operate in any switch position, go to POWER SEAT INOPERATIVE under SYMPTOM TESTS. If power seat operates in some, but not all switch positions, go to next step.
- Move power seat switch to move entire seat forward and rearward. Seat should move forward and rearward. If power seat operates as specified, go to next step. If seat does not operate as specified, go to POWER SEAT DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD/REARWARD under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- Move front of power seat switch up and down. Front of power seat should move up and down. If power seat operates as specified, go to next step. If power seat does not operate as specified, go to POWER SEAT DOES NOT TILT FORWARD under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- Move rear of power seat switch up and down. Rear of power seat should move up and down. If power seat operates as specified, go to next step. If power seat does not respond as specified, go to POWER SEAT DOES NOT TILT BACKWARD under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- Move power seat adjuster switch to move entire power seat up and down. Power seat should move up and down. If power seat does not respond as specified, go to POWER SEAT DOES NOT TILT FORWARD , POWER SEAT DOES NOT TILT BACKWARD and/or POWER SEAT DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD/REARWARD under SYMPTOM TESTS. If power seat operates as specified, problem is intermittent. Go to PRELIMINARY INSPECTION .
