Test B: Abs Indicator Inoperative

  1. Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off, then on. Observe ABS indicator light. If ABS indicator light turns on for about 2 seconds, then turn off, go to next step. If ABS indicator light does not turn on or turns on but does not turn off, go to step  5.
  3. Using scan tool in Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) special functions menu, attempt to turn on ABS indicator light. If ABS indicator light turns on, go to next step. If ABS indicator light does not turn on, go to step  5.
  4. Using scan tool in 4WAL 3 Sensor (ABS) special functions menu, attempt to turn on ABS indicator light of and on. If ABS indicator light turns on and off, problem is intermittent. If ABS indicator light does not turn on and off, go to step  6.
  5. Replace IPC. After replacing IPC, go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
  6. Replace EBCM. After replacing EBCM, go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
