Cruise Control Short Test: 2.5L

- Disconnect ECM connectors. Remove ECM RLYS fuse. Connect a test light to fuse terminals. Move main cruise control switch to OFF position. Turn ignition on. If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, repair short to ground in wiring harness.
- Press and hold brake pedal and clutch pedal (if equipped). Turn cruise control main switch to ON position. If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, check for short to ground in Gray wire between ECM White 24-pin connector terminal No. 20 and multifunction lever connector terminal "B". See Figure and Figure . If wire is okay, replace multifunction lever.
- Release brake and clutch pedals. If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, repair short to ground in Brown or Brown/White wire between ECM Black 24-pin connector terminal No. 14 and brake switch or in Gray wire between brake switch and clutch switch. See Figure .
- Press and hold cruise control set switch. If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, check for short to ground in Dark Blue wire between ECM White 24-pin connector terminal No. 21 and multifunction lever connector terminal "D". See Figure and Figure . If wire is okay, replace multifunction lever.
- Move cruise control main switch to R/A position and hold. If test light does not come on, replace fuse and repeat BASIC OPERATION TEST under TESTING. If test light comes on, check for short to ground in Gray/Black or Gray/White wire between ECM White 24-pin connector terminal No. 4 and multifunction lever connector terminal "C". See Figure and Figure . If wire is okay, replace multifunction lever.
