Basic Operation Test

However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Drive vehicle at a speed greater than 25 MPH. Turn cruise control main switch to ON position. CRUISE indicator light should come on (if equipped). Press and release set switch. Vehicle should maintain set speed.
- Press and hold set switch, then release it. Vehicle should slow until button is released, and then vehicle should maintain new lower speed. Move cruise control main switch to R/A position and hold, then move back to ON position. Vehicle should accelerate until switch is moved back to ON position.
- Tap brake pedal (or clutch pedal). CRUISE indicator light should go out (if equipped) and vehicle should begin to coast. Move main switch to R/A position and release. CRUISE indicator should illuminate (if equipped) and vehicle should accelerate to former set speed.
- While cruising at set speed, press accelerator momentarily and then release. Vehicle should accelerate and then coast back to set speed. While cruising at set speed, tap main switch to R/A position. Set speed should increase by one MPH for each tap, up to 10 taps.
- While cruising at set speed, tap set switch. Set speed should decrease by one MPH for each tap, until 25 MPH is reached, and then cruise control should not operate. Move main switch to OFF position. CRUISE indicator should go out (if equipped) and vehicle should begin to coast.
- If cruise control system does not function as specified, refer to CRUISE CONTROL SCAN TOOL TEST for 2.5L models or refer to CRUISE CONTROL ISOLATION TEST for 2.3L and 3.3L models.
