Installation Procedure
- Position the generator and starter cable.
Install the generator positive cable (2) to the generator.
- Install the generator positive cable nut (1) and tighten to 12.5 N.m (111 lb in).
Install the generator and starter positive cable (1)
- Install the generator and starter positive cable nut (2) and tighten to 12.5 N.m (111 lb in).
- Install the ground cable (4).
- Install the ground cable nut (3) and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
- If equipped, install the engine shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
- Lower the vehicle.
Clip in the generator and starter cable conduit retainer (3).
- Clip in the generator and starter cable retainers (2) to the rear transmission bracket.
- Install the transmission range selector lever cable (1) to the cable bracket.
- Connect the transmission range selector lever cable terminal to the transmission manual shift lever pin.
Install the generator and starter cable conduit bolt (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Clip in the generator and starter cable retainers (2, 3) to the body and to the transmission bracket.
Install the battery negative cable (2).
- Install the battery ground cable nut (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the transmission fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipe. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement , and Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement .
