Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
Do NOT bend the steering column energy absorbing straps located on the upper steering column mounting bracket.
Steering Column(1) - Install
- Tighten the steering column lower fasteners before you tighten the steering column upper fasteners. Failure to do this can damage the steering column.
- Tighten the steering column fasteners to the specified torque. Overtightening the upper steering column fasteners could affect the steering column collapse.
- Steering Column Nut(2) - Install and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft) - Use NEW nuts.
- Remove the tie straps.
- Connect electrical connections, if applicable.
- Turn Signal Switch Bracket - Install - Turn Signal Switch Bracket Replacement
- Intermediate Steering Shaft - Install - Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement
- Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel-Left Side - Install - Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side
- Calibrate the steering angle sensor. Power Steering Control Module Calibration
