Test B: Retained Accessory Power On After Time-Out
- If Retained Accessory Power (RAP) system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If RAP system diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform RAP system diagnostic system check. See RETAINED ACCESSORY POWER SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Sit in vehicle and close all doors. Turn ignition on. Wait 5 seconds, then turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Observe the remote function actuation accessory 1 status. If accessory 1 status is off, go to next step. If accessory 1 status is on, go to step 12 .
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, to right of steering column. See Figure . Close all the doors. Turn ignition on. Wait 5 seconds, then turn ignition off. Wait 10 minutes. Observe the RAP output parameters in the remote function actuation data list. If RAP output indicates OFF, go to next step. If RAP output indicates ON, go to step 13 .
- Using scan tool, command RAP relay on and off. If RAP relay does not turn on and off, go to next step. If RAP relay turns on and off, go to step 10 .
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove RAP relay. RAP relay is located in rear fuse block. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using a test light connected to ground, probe coil side feed circuit of RAP relay. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 14 .
- Connect a test lamp between the control circuit of the RAP relay and the coil side feed circuit of the RAP relay. With the scan tool, command the RAP relay on and off. If test light does not illuminate, go to next step. If test light illuminates, go to step 10 .
- If test light does not stay illuminated during all commands, go to next step. If test light stays illuminated during all commands, go to step 9 .
- Check for a open or short to voltage on control circuit (Black wire) between RAP relay rear fuse block harness connector C3 terminal A5 and remote control door lock receiver harness connector terminal B6. If no problem is found, go to step 12 . If problem is found, repair is necessary. After repair, go to step 17 .
- Check for short to ground on control circuit (Black wire) between RAP relay rear fuse block harness connector C3 terminal A5 and remote control door lock receiver harness connector terminal B6. If no problem is found, go to step 13 . If problem is found, repair is necessary. After repair, go to step 17 .
- Check for short to voltage on load output circuit (Yellow wire) between RAP relay rear fuse block harness connector C3 terminal B5 and sunroof module harness connector C1 terminal "C". Check for short to voltage on load output circuit (Yellow wire) between RAP relay rear fuse block harness connector C3 terminal E5 and instrument panel fuse block harness connector C3 terminal B1. If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, repair is necessary. After repair, go to step 17 .
- Check terminals and connectors at RAP relay and harness connector. If poor connections are not found, go to step 15 . If poor connections are found, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 17 .
- Check for short to voltage on accessory positive voltage circuit (Yellow wire) between RCDLR terminal B15 and instrument panel fuse block connector C3 terminal C1. If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, repair is necessary. After repair, go to step 17 .
- Check terminals and connectors at RCDLR and harness connector. If poor connections are not found, go to step 16 . If poor connections are found, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 17 .
- Repair coil side feed circuit (Red wire) between RAP relay and battery. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 17 .
- Replace RAP relay. After repair, go to step 17 .
- Replace the remote control door lock receiver. See REMOTE CONTROL DOOR LOCK RECEIVER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reprogram transmitters. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING under PROGRAMMING. After repair, go to step 17 .
- Operate the system in order to verify the repair. If no problem is found, repair is complete. If any problem is found, go to step 2 .
